Paper Weaving

Maple Class had a Scottish theme to their day on Friday 30th November as it was St Andrew’s Day. A reading activity enabled the children to learn more about the Patron Saint of Scotland, adding to information they had already heard in their Year 5 assembly earlier in the week.

In the afternoon, the children had a chance to create some Tartan-inspired designs by weaving coloured paper strips to make these attractive and vibrant patches.

It was pleasing to see the children working together in pairs and really co-operating well to choose their colour scheme and then carefully weave the paper strips together.
